The S.S. Badger and the drive to Cable, WI.

A few years back, not sure how many, my sister, Michele, took a ferry across Lake Michigan. I never even considered doing that until she did it.  So, when I left Manton, Michigan I drove the seventy-five miles to Ludington, Michigan to take a four hour ferry ride. Teddie stayed in the car while we made the crossing, my car was driven on and off by the crew, and I hung out in the restaurant and in some comfortable chairs at the back of the boat.  Is that the stern?  I don't know - not looking it up. All right.  Had to look it up.  It's the stern. After we disembarked, we got on the road and drove to Wausau, Wisconsin to spend the night.  The next day we arrived at my cousin Doug's camp on Lake Owen in Cable, Wisconsin.

Not having any demands on my time has freed me up to make a split decision to spontaneously turn the car around when I spot something that I'd like to shoot with my new camera, a Canon Rebel T7i that I barely know how to operate. Doing is the best way and this camera is supposed to do some really cool stuff.  One functional thing that I really like about the camera is the Bluetooth connection I can establish with my phone to transfer images off the camera's storage card.  That is so convenient.   At any rate, the plan is to get out of the car and take more pictures.  Here are some random photos. See the slideshow, below.

I mostly go by the name Michael Hutchings, sometimes: V. Michael Hutchings, sometimes Vernon or Vernon M. Hutchings. I love politics, history, and technology. I grew up in Westland, MI, moved to New Hampshire, then to Colorado; and finally, settled down in Vermont. Retired. Every day is a Saturday.
